Today was the launch of our new NSF program to help connect talented Hispanic women to STEM disciplines. Successful applicants will stay on campus at Randolph-Macon for 6 days and engage in lots of amazing STEM related activities. I will be leading a workshop on the Physics of Rainbows and helping out with an Astronomy workshop. I’ll also be accompanying the girls on field trips to places like the Virginia Science Museum, Maymont, and the Baltimore Aquarium.
I’m really excited to be a part of this important project. If you are a Latina high school girl, or know somebody who is, please check out the website for application details. (A Spanish translation of the website is coming soon!)
